Depending on the season and fishing conditions, you may target: Sailfish, Blue/Black & Striped Marlin, Mahi Mahi (Dorado), Yellowfin Tuna, Roosterfish, Wahoo, Jack Crevalle, Snapper & Grouper. Quepos is internationally recognized for its billfish and offshore action, with excellent inshore fishing as well.

All charters include: licensed captain and professional first mate, tournament-grade rods/reels/tackle/lures, live bait (when available), ice and fish handling, drinking water/natural beverages/soft drinks/beer, lunch and light snacks, shaded seating and onboard marine head (toilet), safety equipment and first-aid supplies.

Yes, gratuities are customary for charter crews. A 20% gratuity is commonly used as a guideline when guests are pleased with the service.

We offer full-day charters (about 8 hours, offshore or inshore), half-day inshore charters (5 hours, 7:00 am – 12:00 pm), and private 3-hour coastal (morning) and sunset experiences. If a half day is too short and a full day doesn’t fit your schedule, ask about a ¾-day charter. Trip lengths and target species are clearly outlined at the time of booking.

If you want a shot at sailfish, marlin, or tuna, choose the full-day offshore charter. If you’d rather fish closer to shore, want a shorter trip, or are fishing with kids, the half-day inshore or private charters are a better fit.

Yes. All billfish are catch-and-release, and the Reckless crew follows responsible handling and release practices. Other species are handled in accordance with the applicable Costa Rican regulations and our responsible fishing practices.

No experience is required. Our trips are designed for all skill levels, from first-time anglers and families to seasoned and tournament sportfishermen. Our captain and crew provide hands-on guidance, instruction, and support throughout the trip.
